The «Rail-Hub-API» service is of interest to OTAs, meta-search-engines, TOs and business travel platforms, which want to connect the still very heterogeneous «rail world» to their own system environment with little effort via a universal XML interface. The carrier-neutral API offers users the chance to retrieve timetables and prices as well as to make bookings for cross-border European rail routes with several railway companies. Both market fares and RIT fares – which can only be combined with land services – can be booked via a best-price function. The booking process also takes into account the national season tickets offered by the railway companies.
The «Rail-Hub-API» user can choose between obtaining the fulfilment service from the rail broker Railtour Suisse SA, and handling the ticketing independently via their own contracts with the railway companies.
At present, bookings can be made with the following rail systems: SBB, Deutsche Bahn, SNCF (France), ÖBB (Austria), Trenitalia, AVE (Spain), Eurostar and Thalys. Arrangements are currently being made to include more rail systems.
Rail travel is the trend, and has been for over 30 years at Online Travel. As a leading railway technology provider, the IT specialist from Switzerland offers its customers a single-entry interface to the European railways.
